Dreamer. Lover of life. Goal getter. These are just a few words to describe Jamie Fleming-Dixon, a South Carolina-based copywriter and blogger.
Ever since she was little, Jamie has loved to read and write. When she was around 11-years-old, she began reading and collecting magazines, and now, she has 100+ in her collection. She always knew she wanted to be a writer and ultimately decided that her dream was to work for a magazine, then create her own for women.
However, after graduating from college and not being able to find a job in the media, Jamie eventually decided to go the freelance writing route and stumbled upon blogging.
Initially, Jamie considered waiting a few years to ensure she had resources needed to create a magazine, but she felt that women her age needed something now, so she decided to start by creating something that would cost considerably less– a blog.
She also realized that more and more people were flocking to websites and blogs for information and discovered that she could still follow her dreams…just in a different way. Ultimately, Jamie decided that For Colored Gurls was the way to go and createdthe site in 2008.
Through FCG, Jamie’s intention is to empower her readers, inspire them to live their most fabulous lives and to motivate them to reach for their dreams and goals.
Jamie is also owner of a copywriting service, Mocha Writer, where she specializes in creating fabulous copy and content for women solopreneurs. Additionally, she is the author of How to Change Your Mindset + Live Your Most Fabulous Life, an inspirational guide that helps women create and live the lives they want. She wants women to know that having the life they’ve always wanted is possible, and her goal is to show them how to get there.
Other than writing, blogging and reading, Jamie’s interests include her spirituality, living a fabulous life, magazines and books, nail polish, loved ones, laughing and chocolate. She resides in Anderson, South Carolina with her husband, Chris.
