A series featuring awesome bloggers I think you should check out.
Blog Title: His Majesty Favorite
How long have you been blogging?
I’ve been blogging since November 2009.
What is your blog about?
My blog is about insight and inspiration. It’s a place where people can come, read but then leave with a newfound, positive perspective on life.
Why did you start your blog?
I started writing mini-blogs, or notes, on Facebook about topics or situations that I would sit alone and ponder about. The notes generated a lot of response and comments from others. I started to get a lot of compliments and one day, someone said, “Your notes would make a good blog.” From there, I started thinking and writing out the purpose and mission of a blog. Through my blogging, I found a hidden talent of mine, so I’m thankful that someone recognized it.
How do you decide what to write about?
I used my thoughts, thinking and life experiences to summate the content of my blog. I write backwards, I used a catchy and deep title, and I create a message from that title.
What is your favorite post that you’ve written?
My favorite post that I’ve written is actually my very first blog post, “Purpose of the Wilderness.” I put a lot into it, and I really went deep into thought. I needed to make sure that it set the tone and expectation I desired for my blog. I wanted my readers to know exactly what it was they were getting into during their journey of His Majesty’s Favorite.
What do you want readers to take away from it after reading?
After reading my blog, I want people to leave with a new level of insight and a found inspiration. I want for them to gain wisdom about a certain topic or situation. I want my readers to see life as a blessing despite all of the turmoil because there are hidden treasures in all life experiences.
Tips for people wanting to start a blog:
Don’t just write for yourself, write for your readers. You have to be consistent in blogging. It’s not easy at first because it takes a lot of discipline. Unless your blog is about controversy, try to stay away from controversial statements. I try not to tell people what to do in my blog but instead guide them into a direction.
